The age-old adage First Do No Harm should be the tempering goal of not only medicine, but government and industry, especially when they team up to deploy new technologies, set policies and serve the people.

This blog exists to reveal and analyze areas in which these powerful groups are failing to "first do no harm."

Cell phone use can affect moral judgement center in brain: a buried study says

You can no longer find any references to cell phone use impact on moral judgement regarding this MIT study online.  Here is another link to the study. But I recall seeing cell phone use pondered when I first found it a couple years ago. Now, you can't find the study using cell phone and moral judgement as search terms. So, I am posting the link to help others find it.

This is an important study because the implications could be staggering to society if moral judgement can be affected by these devices. Cell phone users' attitudes towards fellow human beings could be hardened by this biological effect. Folks, this is "brave new world" kind of stuff. Take note and pass it on!

Asian update on deadly “smart meter” pandemic

Coming soon to an Asian country near you - microwave transmitting utility meters to dose residents and visitors 24/7 with dangerous pulsed radiofrequency radiation, which a new Greek study shows harms brain proteins - impacting learning, memory and alzheimer's development. So much for respecting people's qi or chi body energy, which will be seriously disrupted by the growing microwave exposures.

1.5 million meter V-AMI deployment in China announced by Glen Canyon Corporation

TEPCO to hold bids for 17 million smart meters

Taiwan:

October 2009: Taiwan Power is experimenting with wireless communications that allow a smart meter to communicate with appliances throughout the household. According to Ho Wu-chi of the government’s Industrial Technology Research Institute Taiwan will develop its own bi-directional communications system for smart meters.

Ho said that the potential for the international smart meter market is enormous. He said the world will need 30 million smart meters a year for the next 30 years and that each meter will cost between $50 and $100.

Electromagnetic hypersensitivity, fact or fiction? by Genius and Lipp: a MUST READ

This article - Electromagnetic hypersensitivity: Fact or fiction?" by Stephen J. Genius and Christopher T. Lipp of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary, Canada - is hard to find searching, so I am posting it here in hopes it will come up more easily. Cheers.

History of Microwave Mania: U.S. Safety Standards for Microwave Radiation based on faulty Military assumptions

Do you want the military to apply its let's-win-this-war safety standards to civilian applications of harmful emissions?

Magda Havas' site (here is the correct link for this topic) from the Zory Glaser archives exposes the faulty military assumptions upon which current safety standards for microwave/radiofrequency exposure are based. Her assessment of the article published in 1980 is absolutely chilling. The people making the 1966 U.S. standards had studies from 1926 to 1956 showing non-thermal harm from radiofrequency radiation available to them, yet ignored them all. Their main concern was military dominance, rather than public protection, she writes.

Just because we don't know the mechanisms involved is no excuse to not set safer guidelines, asserts Havas. She writes, "One thing that we seem to have forgotten is that standard setting does not require detailed knowledge about mechinisms or explanations about anonmalistic phenomena. To set a standard one simply needs to know at what level- for whatever reasons - harmful effects appear."

So, if you happened to be wondering how the U.S. exposure standards could be so high and where that absurd idea that there are no non-thermal effects of microwaves came from see Havas' "Pick of the Week #2."

History of Microwave Mania: Silent Wireless Spring says it all

Anti-microwave radiation trail blazer Arthur Firstenberg exposes the calculated moves by powerful groups in the U.S. and internationally to push forward with a technology that has been proven for decades to be extremely harmful to living creatures. Firstenberg is a founding father, who early on spread the sane and sobering truth about where we are headed. His 2007 article speaks about the dangerous place we are today, despite the willful ignorance of those who refuse to see.

He writes:

One can imagine two very different futures. In one, these stories appear on the front pages of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. The Food and Drug Administration suspends cell phone sales, and the Federal Communications Commission shuts down cell towers. Cities stop building Wi-Fi networks. Internet cafes dismantle antennas and install cables. Public service announcements tell people to put wires back on their home phones and computers. Wireless technology takes a place in history beside other mistakes like lead water pipes, asbestos insulation, thalidomide and DDT.

In the other future nothing changes. The news media continue to ignore those stories, and many others like them. Governments issue no warnings, and take no steps to protect the public or the environment.

We are waist-deep in "the other future." Add in many consumers' growing dependence on and addiction to cell phone products and apps, plus utility, educational and medical groups at the alter of wireless technology, and maybe we are neck-deep?

Many people have symptoms of Radiofrequency Sickness/Microwave Sickness but are unaware of the environmental cause. The growing number of people realizing they have this sensitivity must deal with a culture that would rather ridicule their sensitivity or call it psychological than take in the truth. We are a consumer culture and people like their stuff. They like to point out that all these microwave devices are legal. Of course, this is due to morbidly outdated and lax federal standards. (see Firstenberg's article for historical details)

The questions remain: Are we a stupid culture, unable to understand new information, even with facts staring us in the face? Are we a gullible culture that believes what the authorities tell us even if our experience says otherwise? Are we a cruel and selfish culture that wants what we want no matter what affect it has on others? Before these questions can be wholly answered, the culture must be exposed to the truth and given a chance to understand. And that it where Mr. Firstenberg and the rest of us are working.
Note: Arthur Firstenberg, for his early and continued work and articles bringing the reality of bio-effects from RF/MW to light, is now designated as a FDNHB Hero.
